Hey all, a quick tip to help you with your business. Today I’m going to show you really quickly how to set up an automated abandoned cart email, so that means when someone adds something to their cart on your eCommerce store, then doesn’t check out, MailChimp will send them an automatic email asking them if they would like to return to your store and complete the purchase. It’s a really handy automated system to add to your website.
Now the statistics are pretty impressive. See an average of 34 times more orders per recipient with abandoned cart automations than with bulk email alone. So, for this tutorial, you’ll need to have WordPress installed and WooCommerce installed as your E-commerce handler, and you will also need the MailChimp for WooCommerce plugin.
Simply log into your MailChimp account, click on Automated Emails, click on Turn On Abandoned Cart Email. Select your store from the drop down list. If you don’t see your store, you’ll need to connect your store through the MailChimp for WooCommerce plugin. Choose one of MailChimp’s pre-designed templates or create your own. MailChimp has designed the text copy for you, including the return to cart link. Click Send, and all you need to do now is sit back and let MailChimp do all the work for you.
